About Vanessa Ruys

Vanessa Ruys serves as the Director of Pharmacy Operations for Marley Drug (Medicure's Online Pharmacy). In her role, she oversees the entire staff and operations of a nationwide pharmacy solution, providing cost-effective access to essential prescription medications without the reliance on insurance. Vanessa leads a team of dedicated pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring the seamless processing of Marley's online and in-person orders. Her responsibilities extend to negotiating contracts with various manufacturers to reduce overall business costs, ultimately translating into lower expenses for patients.

Vanessa joined Medicure in 2017, initially as a pharmaceutical account executive, and later transitioned to the role of Commercial Pharmacy Manager. She holds a BSc from the University of Manitoba, with a double major in Chemistry and Psychology. Vanessa's commitment to optimizing pharmacy operations reflects her dedication to making healthcare more accessible and affordable for everyone.
